Paragraph four would indicate otherwise.
Actually, reading up on the Caldari-Gallente war chronicles would tell you that the Caldari were using a much smaller class of 'Fighter' ship designed as one man crew ships. Those are most likely the ships it referrs to. (Though I doubt they were fighters as we know them)
After that, the Frigate was born as a counter measure. More weapons, just as fast and much stronger. Frigates have very few crew. I think I remember the old schematic pictures they put up once on the old website in the early retail days saying they can have something like 2-5 crew members. So it is entirely possible that these early fighters flown by the caldari in the war were single man ships. ------

There is no crew, otherwise upon ship destruction there would be several pods, not just yours. You think that the crew always dies?

Only the pilot of the ship (ie the player) is inside a pod. the rest are on foot and doomed.
Read the links above, especially Hands of a Killer. Life is cheep in eve.
Quote: To me this debate seems pointless. If you are not a role player, then who cares?
No offense, but if you don't care then why post here anyway?
Tell you what, go into a thread about PVP tactics/problems and then say 'If you don't pvp, who cares' and do the same thing to those talking about agent missions and mining and POS setups and deadspace complex raiding and industry... get the picture? ------

Here is another thing. Who do you think stacks items in your cargo hold and shuffles them around to make them neat when you scoop loot? Cargo bay crew.
I can tell you at least it is not some giant floating mouse pointer in your cargo bay doing what you click. ------

Thank you (Sorry Ive forgotten already) for justifying sec hits thats actually a very logical justification.
But the hardline fan bois (& girls) arent actually answering the questions?
Crew Quality?
Wages?
Ship effiecency whilst taking structural damage?
If you bothered to read you would see that this has been answered already. Read boi, read.
Not coded yet lagg issues of thoustands of corpses bumping off each of them around gates after a battle coming in Kali at least or a little later
And most of all 'blindly citing stories' does answer the fact that crews are present. We don't have anything to do with planet side life in the game so by your logic should we assume that planets are barren and deserted worlds? We don't have to cook our characters food to eat so should we all get 6-7 days of playability before we starve? We don't see anything in station except the dock area so what the heck, there must not be anything else in the station right?
Just because it is not in the game doesn't discount that it is as far as the story is concerned.
So there you go. A hardcore fan boy telling you what you most likely already know. Happy? ------

Originally by: Hands of a Killer Four months later, Daren Athaksis was confirmed as one of six-thousand three-hundred and fourteen reported casualties resulting from the destruction of the Apocalypse-class battleship "Dam-Imud." His post was filled within three days. His family was not notified.
And where does it say that was a pod-piloted ship?
I'm the author of that story. The Pilot talking to the prospective crewmember is a Pod-pilot. I know because I wrote it.
Next argument prease!
Really? You really wrote it? First I heard of it. I thought someone else wrote it. I remember them saying a name at the fanfest when they were on about the art works and I don't remember what it was, but I am sure it wasn't yours. (Unless they said your real name, not sure.)
Either way, anyone with half a brain can see it referrs to pod pilots. I refuse to quote it for your sake so please just read and absorb the story. It's really not that hard. ------
